Cyclone Narelle Tourism Business Support Package

Western Australia’s tourism industry will receive $1.45 million in targeted funding to support business recovery following the impacts of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle. 

This package will help tourism operators, including accommodation providers, stabilise, recover, and reconnect with visitors across affected regions.

It includes one-off business support funding, with applications now open for eligible operators. Full eligibility requirements are available in the Guidelines below, with additional FAQs available.

Disaster support

Alongside the Tourism Business Support Package, existing disaster support is available for residents impacted by Cyclone Narelle.

Support includes: 

• One-off disaster relief payments of up to $4,000 for eligible individuals and businesses 
• Disaster recovery assistance and support services for affected communities and businesses 
• Loan interest subsidies and broader small business recovery assistance for impacted operators 
• Commonwealth disaster recovery payments and allowances, including income support for eligible workers and business owners 
• Australian Taxation Office disaster support measures, including tax relief and payment deferrals for affected businesses 

Travel advice

Many tourism operators across the region remain open and ready to welcome visitors. 

Travellers are encouraged to: 

• Keep or reschedule bookings where possible, rather than cancelling 
• Check availability prior to travel
• Check travel information before departing
