We have a range of strategies and corporate plans identifying how we will sustainably grow the WA tourism industry, by marketing our state as a world-class holiday destination, creating a diverse calendar of events, increasing access to our state, developing new experiences and attractions, and informing and empowering the tourism sector.  

Our guiding strategy is the 10-year Western Australia Visitor Economy Strategy (WAVES 2033) which outlines a new vision for WA’s tourism sector and sets an ambitious target of achieving $25 billion in visitor spend per annum by 2033.

Our strategy sets a new vision for Western Australia, ‘to be recognised as a world-class destination that immerses people in its unique cultures, communities and environment.’    

Jina Plan

Developed in consultation with the WA Indigenous Tourism Operators Council, the Jina: Western Australian Aboriginal Tourism Action Plan 2021-2025 positions WA as Australia’s premier destination for authentic Aboriginal tourism.  

Vision for Dream Events

Tourism WA’s Events Strategy outlines our vision for Western Australia to be the fastest-growing events destination in the South East Asia region. Supported by the ‘Where Dream Events Happen’ campaign, we're showcasing that every month, every season, there is a reason to visit Western Australia. 

Corporate Plan

Our Corporate Plan for 2024-25 outlines how Western Australia outlines the second year of delivery of WAVES 2033, the strategy that will guide us through the next 10 years of transformation and growth.

Western Australian Cruise Tourism Strategic Plan 2023-2033
