Data that informs

Each quarter, Tourism WA publishes a report on the latest visitor statistics, showing how many international and domestic visitors travelled to our state, how much they spent while here, the reason for their visit and where each visitor came from. Based on Tourism Research Australia’s National Visitor Survey and International Visitor Survey results, the WA Tourism Snapshot provides an opportunity to get to know our latest visitors.

Accommodation Statistics

Our accommodation statistics provide insight into visitation trends and seasonality. We report accommodation performance by analysing the numbers of rooms sold, occupancy rates, and the average daily rate of hotels and short-term rentals (i.e. Airbnb). The data is based on sample of properties, extrapolated out to the total.

You can access the accommodation statistics for all of WA, and break down the data for each of our five tourism regions, including Destination Perth, Australia’s South West, Australia’s North West, Australia’s Coral Coast and Australia's’ Golden Outback.

How do visitors rate WA?

Each year Tourism WA undertake research to better understand visitors' experiences and expectations of Western Australia. We ask recent visitors what they thought of their holiday in WA? Did it measure up to their expectations? The research also reveals what visitors to WA are interested in and explored the demand for authentic Aboriginal tourism experiences.

Who are our repeat visitors?
