Rugby union fans are expected to snap up tickets on sale from 10am (AWST) today (June 9, 2021) to Perth’s Bledisloe Cup Test at Optus Stadium on August 21 this year.
The tickets, priced from $49 and available through www.wallabies.rugby, will give fans the chance to witness the only Bledisloe to be played on Australian soil this year.
Perth hosted its first-ever Bledisloe Cup in 2019 to an enthusiastic response from fans. More than 61,000 people packed the stadium to watch the Wallabies defeat the All Blacks, creating an Optus Stadium sporting attendance record of 61,241.
Tourism Western Australia secured the 2019 and 2021 Bledisloe Cup matches for the State in partnership with Rugby Australia.
“The 2019 Bledisloe Cup pumped more than $12.5 million into the WA economy through out-of-state visitor spend and thousands travelled to WA for the occasion” said Tourism WA’s Acting Managing Director, Derryn Belford.
“We’ll be marketing this exciting event interstate as a great reason for people to visit friends and relatives here, stay longer, and get out to the regions.
“The Bledisloe is a particularly valuable event for WA as it’s held during Winter - normally a quieter time for tourism.
“We’re looking forward to this year’s showdown being another great sporting spectacle and a huge boost for our industry.”
