Visitors from the UK and interstate are set to descend on Perth when the Wallabies take on England at Optus Stadium on Saturday July 2.

The Perth Test match will be the first of the three-game Wallabies 2022 eToro England Series, and is supported by Tourism WA in partnership with Rugby Australia.

It follows a blockbuster international rugby match last year, when the Wallabies took on the All Blacks in Perth for the Bledisloe Cup.

The thrilling game was watched by more than 52,000 rugby fans at Optus Stadium and showcased WA to the world through the television broadcast.

The upcoming Wallabies v England match in Perth is anticipated to attract thousands of interstate and international visitors, and generate millions for the State’s economy through visitor spend and broadcast media value.

Tourism WA Managing Director Carolyn Turnbull said the game will provide a big boost to WA tourism and hospitality businesses.

“As Australia’s western gateway and the closest port to Europe, Perth is the ideal location for the first Test match of the Wallabies 2022 eToro England Series,” said Carolyn.

“Our proximity will be further strengthened when Qantas resumes their Perth to London direct service in June, just in time for UK rugby fans to board a flight straight to our capital for the Test match in early July.

“The game will provide a multimillion-dollar boost to the WA economy and support our local tourism and hospitality operators, with visitors encouraged to get out and about and enjoy Perth while they’re here.”

Tickets for the highly anticipated match will go on sale soon.
