Tourism businesses can now apply for the $15 million WA Tourism Deposit Refund Program and the $20 million WA Tourism Support Program.

The industry support programs are part of the State Government’s recently announced $77 million Safe Transition Industry Support Package.

The funding programs are designed to help eligible WA tourism businesses offset some of the financial impact incurred by the delayed border reopening.

Tourism WA Managing Director Carolyn Turnbull said the funding will support tourism operators as interstate and international visitors return to the State.

“This is an exciting time for tourism businesses welcoming back out-of-State visitors, but we know the change to the border reopening date created some challenges for industry,” Carolyn said.

“This support package will help WA tourism operators manage the financial impact of the changed date, offset deposit refunds, and ultimately help our industry get ready for the new reopening date of 3 March, when we welcome the rest of the country and the world back to Western Australia.”

Applications for the $3 million WA Travel Agents Support Fund for eligible registered travel agents will open soon.
