WA regional event holders are encouraged to apply for funding through the 2023-24 Regional Events Scheme, which opens today.
The scheme is supported by Tourism WA and Royalties for Regions, with applications now open for funding between $5,000 and $40,000 for events held between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024.
The annual funding round supports smaller and developing events around WA, with a total of up to $1.1 million funding available for the 2023-24 round.
The funding includes $250,000 for the Regional Aboriginal Events Scheme (RAES) in 2023-24, to support events that showcase and celebrate Aboriginal activities and experiences through the leadership and participation of Aboriginal people.
This is an increase in funding of $100,000 to support the delivery of more Aboriginal tourism events, an initiative of the Jina: Western Australian Tourism Action Plan 2021-2025 (Jina Plan).
Sixty-eight regional events around the State were awarded funding under the 2022-23 scheme, including seven through the RAES.
Applications close at 5pm, Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
