Tourism Workforce Development Program

Tourism WA is investing $5 million over the next two years funding a series of initiatives to grow the tourism and hospitality workforce.

Developing a skilled workforce is one of the six goal area identified in our WA Visitor Economy Strategy 2033 and is key to creating a $25 billion visitor economy per annum by 2033.

Already the Western Australian tourism industry supports more than 110,800 tourism filled jobs. To support and grow this workforce, the Tourism Workforce Development Program addresses four key strategy areas, including:

  • Local Jobs for Local People – Increasing local capacity and capability.
  • Inbound Workforce - Leveraging the inbound workforce.
  • Industry Profiling - Raising the profile of the industry as a positive career choice.
  • Resources and Tools - Supporting employee attraction and retention.
