To help develop new and diverse tourism product, we have a team within our agency who work with industry and operators directly to support them in creating new experiences. 

We receive funding through the National Park Tourism Experiences Development (NPTED) Program, which aims to create diverse, high quality, environmentally conscious and culturally sensitive tourism experiences in and around national parks and protected areas.  

The program aims to: 

  • facilitates new tourism experiences that activate national parks visitation; 
  • creates density and diversity of tourism products throughout the state by engaging and building capacity within the tourism industry; 
  • assists with business case development, progression of approval, and community consultation; 
  • assists private sector operators through the various stages of planning and development of new tourism experiences and assets activating national parks; and 
  • enhances tourism experience development activities by providing development workshops, tools and one-on-one coaching for tourism operators. 

To help create new and diverse tourism products, we have a team of Tourism Experience Development Managers across regional WA and Perth to assist industry.
