Ningaloo Reef, Exmouth

Ningaloo Reef, Exmouth

The incredible UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Marine Park will be the centerpiece of a breathtaking three-part documentary series, written and narrated by award-winning Australian author, Tim Winton.

The renowned conservationist will be sharing stories of the animals and people drawn to the region in Ningaloo with Tim Winton.

Ningaloo has one of the largest fringing coastal reefs on Earth, and the documentary series will reveal its diverse wildlife, including one of the only whale shark aggregation sites, the world's largest humpback whale nursery and a refuge for ancient troglobites in the region's cave system.

The series will highlight the reef, Cape Range National Park and the Exmouth Gulf – showing how the ecosystems have evolved. Tim Winton said the series is a 'deeply personal journey'.

“Ningaloo has had an enormous impact on my life and work, and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pay homage through new science, ancient knowledge and a shared ethic of stewardship,” he said.

Ningaloo with Tim Winton will premiere on the ABC and internationally this year.
