Global leaders of industry will converge in Western Australia after it was selected to host the World Travel & Tourism Council Global Summit (WTTC) in October 2024.
The summit was secured for the state through a successful bid by Tourism WA, in partnership with Business Events Perth and Business Events Australia.
WTTC is the most influential travel and tourism event and is known as the global authority on tourism. Its members include over 200 CEOs, Chairpersons, and Presidents of companies such as Emirates, Etihad Airlines, Hilton Group, Visa, Expedia and Airbnb.
The summit is an invitation-only event which will place West Australian decision-makers in the room with world leaders to discuss the economic, social and environmental issues currently affecting tourism, trade and travel worldwide, and to explore new investment opportunities in WA.
Hosting the summit will open avenues for WA to have conversations around inbound trade and product investments, new inbound aviation routes and the development of high value tourism product business opportunities.
Tourism WA Managing Director Carolyn Turnbull said hosting the prestigious summit was a wonderful opportunity for Western Australia.
“Hosting the 24th WTTC Global Summit presents a significant opportunity for WA to demonstrate its growth ambition and investment opportunities to WTTC’s members, which includes the CEOs of key travel businesses such as airlines, global hotel operators and investors, and cruise lines.”
