Tourism WA is proud to partner with Qantas to bring direct Perth-Rome flights to Western Australia in 2022.
Tourism WA Managing Director Carolyn Turnbull has welcomed the introduction of another direct international service to WA, following the pre-COVID success of the direct London-Perth route.
“As the only direct service between Australia and continental Europe, today’s announcement by Qantas highlights the importance of Perth as the western gateway to Australia,” Carolyn said.
“This is an exciting opportunity to market our State to an important international audience, which pre-COVID injected an estimated $29 million into our WA economy.
“I look forward to continuing our great relationship with Qantas, and working with the airline to promote WA as a stunning destination,” she said.
Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said the option to fly direct is more appealing now than ever.
“It has enormous potential to provide a significant boost to WA business and tourism operators. Qantas is pleased to be working with the West Australian Government on a joint campaign to showcase the state as an ideal stopover destination for travellers in both directions,” he said.
The seasonal route will see three flights each week when it starts on June 22, 2022. The first flight into Perth will touch down two days later.
Tickets are on sale now, with fares starting from $1620 return. The seasonal service will operate until October 6, 2022.
