Cable Beach Broome

Western Australia’s iconic Cable Beach in Broome (Rubibi) has been named as the best Australian beach, and number three in the world, in Tripadvisor’s annual top 25 list.

Cable Beach came in third place, behind Baia Do Sancho in Brazil, and Eagle Beach in Aruba. The only other Australian location to make the list was Manly Beach in Sydney which came in at number 13.

The world-famous Cable Beach stretches for 22 kilometres, flanked by Gantheaume Point in the south where dinosaur footprints lay, to the pearl-producing waterway of Willie Creek in the north.

At Cable Beach, you can ride a camel on the white sandy beaches; sip cocktails as the red sun sets over the Indian Ocean; or indulge in local delights at one of the new restaurant offerings.

Australia’s North West CEO Natasha Mahar said Cable Beach is high on the travel wishlist for visitors from around the world.

“With its white sands and turquoise waters, bounded by sand dunes and ochre red cliffs, Cable Beach is as nature intended,” Natasha said.

While there is magic in the wet season in the Kimberley, the official tourist season will start in April.

“We are blessed with months of perfect warm weather without a cloud in the sky – there’s no better place to enjoy a beach holiday in 2023.”
