Derby Community Hub
The Kimberley Art and Photography Prize (KAPP) has been a vibrant showcase of the region's artistic talent since its inception in 1970, facilitated by the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley. This annual competition has grown into an essential cultural event, offering a unique opportunity to explore the rich artistic landscape of the Kimberley. The KAPP is a remarkable platform where local artists present their hard work and emerging careers, often capturing the distinctive landscapes, traditions, and stories of the region. It serves as a powerful vehicle for cultural expression and connection to place, highlighting the role of art in preserving cultural heritage and community identity while stimulating economic growth.

Spanning over two weeks, the event kicks off with an exciting opening night, followed by a two-week exhibition that allows visitors to thoroughly explore the showcased artworks. The event culinates in a closing auction, providing a dynamic conclusion where attendees can acquire pieces and directly support the artists.

Visitors to the Kimberley Art and Photography Prize can immerse themselves in the local art scene, gaining a deeper understanding of the community and supporting local artists.
